Overview
A vintage three-piece miniature kitchen set: a JW Bonnie Glo cast iron cookstove, a white ceramic farmhouse sink and a small upright vacuum cleaner. The stove has a black textured finish, four raised burner outlines on the cooktop, a side shelf, a tall stovepipe and a front panel with "Bonnie Glo" in cream lettering. The sink has a high backsplash, a single basin with ribbed drainboards on both sides, two brass-tone faucets and a black metal stand. The vacuum has a bronze-tone base, a brown handle and a brown fabric dust bag. The set suits a dollhouse kitchen, a shadowbox or a small shelf display.
Background
Miniature cast iron cookstoves modeled on late-1800s kitchen ranges were popular collectibles and dollhouse pieces in the 1970s and 1980s, and Bonnie Glo is a known design. The underside of the stove is cast with "JW" and a © symbol, the mark used by John Wright, and has a perforated grate base held by a center screw. The sink has a small gold foil label on the underside that reads "Made in Taiwan Republic of China." The stove is solid cast iron and makes up most of the set's weight.
Condition
Good vintage condition with no breaks. There is a fine surface line in the glaze on the back of the sink's backsplash, running down from one faucet hole. There is a little yellowish glue around the faucet bases and a small pink paint spot near the stovepipe on the stove. Please see all photos.
Dimensions & Weight
The stove is 5 x 4.4 x 2.3 inches (H x W x D). The sink is 3.8 inches high, 5 inches wide and 1.8 inches deep. The vacuum is 3.5 inches high, 1.5 inches wide and 1 inch deep. The set weighs 2 lb 2.6 oz in total.
