Includes complimentary, fully insured standard shipping. Deep Cultural & Historical Background Drawing inspiration from 6th-century BCE Attic black-figure pottery, this paired set displays classical Mediterranean iconographic traditions. The two-handled pedestaled krater form represents traditional wine-mixing vessels, adorned with robed Dionysian figures bearing horns of plenty, flanked by a crisp Greek key (meandros) lower register and an anthemion palmette rear motif. The companion cylindrical vessel features Artemis, goddess of the hunt, depicted with bow in hand alongside a leaping stag amongst stylized sacred grove vegetation. Crafted via traditional wheel-turned clay techniques, hand-applied terracotta slip, and incised line detailing, these pieces celebrate ancient storytelling traditions and timeless Hellenic aesthetics. Condition & Surface Character Both vessels remain in excellent vintage condition with strong structural integrity. The matte black glazed surfaces and warm terracotta slip show minimal age-appropriate wear, subtle surface matte variations, and crisp linework retention. Interiors are clean and free of cracks, structural repairs, or chips.
