Overview
A set of four vintage Greek wall plaques in enamel on brass. Each round plaque has a star-shaped rosette at the center, surrounded by scrolls and petals, and framed by a Greek key border. Each one uses a different color scheme in red, green, turquoise, amber, black and cream, with raised brass outlines between the colors. They make a bright small grouping on a gallery wall, in a hallway or bathroom, or on a shelf with a small stand.
Background
The Greek key, or meander, is one of the best-known ancient Greek border patterns. Enamel-on-brass plaques like these were popular decorative pieces from Greece in the late 20th century. These are unmarked. Each has a small metal hanger attached to the back.
Condition
Good vintage condition with bright colors. There are a few small wear spots in the enamel, light surface marks on the brass backs, and a few small white spots on the backs. Please see all photos.
Dimensions & Weight
Each plaque is about 3.5 inches across and 0.2 inches thick. All four are the same size. Together they weigh about 8 oz.
