Product Overview Bring a rich, multi-layered global aesthetic to your space with this curated 3-piece eclectic African art set. This beautifully balanced group features a hand-chiseled wood sculpture of a traveling man paired with two distinct bohemian miniature wall-hanging masks. Ranging from 9 to 11.5 inches, this trio is perfectly sized for shelf-staging, entryway styling, or adding texture to a gallery wall. Cultural & Historical Significance Each piece in this collection tells a story of 20th-century African artisan craft, blending age-old tribal motifs with modern folk-art sensibilities: The Walking Traveler Statue: This piece is a wonderful example of an African "Genre" or "Colon" figure, famously carved by cooperatives like the Akamba artisans. It depicts an everyday working man or traveler in mid-century attire, intricately rendered with heavy, textured chisel strokes to emphasize motion, resilience, and the dignity of daily labor. The Floral Crested Mask (Middle): A beautiful decorative piece inspired by West African masking traditions. It features a unique top crest carved with a floral rosette and geometric starbursts, showing how traditional carvers seamlessly incorporated organic folk-art patterns into classic facial geometries. The Elongated Botanical Leaf Mask (Right): A modern, sleek interpretation featuring fine, blonde incised leaf and vine patterns contrasted against a rich, dark purple-burgundy stained finish. This stylized look bridges traditional African woodcraft with contemporary global interior design trends.
