Overview
A vintage silverplate coffee pot marked Wm. Rogers, with a tall pear-shaped body on four cast scroll feet. The long curved spout has fluting and a small flower at its base, and the handle is cast with scrolls and a flower at the top. The hinged lid has a raised band of flowers and scrolls around the rim and a cast bud finial. The plain, smooth body shows a mix of silver, dark and golden tones from age and wear. It suits a sideboard, buffet, coffee bar or kitchen shelf.
Background
The eagle, "Wm. ROGERS" and star mark was used by the International Silver Co. on silverplated hollowware in the mid-20th century. This pot is stamped on the underside with that mark. It dates to circa 1940-1970.
Condition
Used vintage condition. The lid hinge works and the cover closes properly, with no dents or leaks seen. There is green verdigris inside the body and under the lid, which will need cleaning before use. The exterior has tarnish and plating wear, with brassy areas showing on the body and spots on the base. Please see all photos.
Dimensions & Weight
The pot measures 10.0 x 9.0 x 4.0 inches (H x W x D), with the width measured from handle to spout. It weighs 2 lb 9 oz.
