Overview
A lot of four vintage Unitron microscope objectives with storage canisters. The set covers 4x, 10x, 40x and 100x. Three of the objectives are marked "Phase" for phase contrast work, and the 100x is an oil-immersion objective. The barrels are chrome-finished, with knurled grip rings and red or black engraved markings. Three of them come in clear screw-top canisters, one of which has a Leitz Wetzlar cap. The lot suits a microscope user filling out a nosepiece, a restorer working on a vintage instrument, or a collector of scientific optics.
Background
Unitron sold microscopes and optics for school, laboratory and industrial use through much of the 20th century. Phase contrast objectives work with a matching phase condenser to show detail in clear, unstained specimens. The barrels are marked "4 0.15", "10 DM 0.25", "40 D.M. 0.65" and "HI 100 1.25", and carry the Unitron numbers 178614, 178474, 178501 and 178459. Also included are a black container marked "16 m/m" and a loose black cap. Some canisters have old handwritten lab labels.
Condition
Used vintage condition. The barrels have light wear, small marks and some toning, and the threads look intact. The optics have not been tested, and there may be dust inside. The canisters have scuffs, aged yellowed foam padding and old labels. Please see all photos.

Each canister is about 2 inches tall and 1.2 inches across. The whole lot weighs about 1 lb 2 oz.
