Overview
A vintage silver solitaire ring set with an oval green jade cabochon. The stone is an even, deep spinach green with soft darker swirls, typical of nephrite jade. It is held high by pairs of double claw prongs over a pierced gallery with radiating slots, and the back is open beneath the stone. Each shoulder has a small slot cutout, and the band tapers to a slim shank. The metal has a bright white finish. It is a classic, wearable ring for everyday or for a vintage jade collection.
Background
Oval jade cabochons in raised prong settings were a popular design for silver rings through the later 20th century. This ring is stamped "SILVER" inside the band and carries no maker's mark. The stone appears to be nephrite jade (not tested).
Condition
Good vintage condition. The stone is secure and all prongs are in place, with no visible chips or cracks. There are light scratches and a few small dark marks inside the band. Please see all photos.
