Overview A studio art pottery pitcher and matching tray set handcrafted by celebrated Vermont ceramicist Robert Crystal. Featuring a warm, speckled persimmon/burnt orange glaze accented with subtle dark glaze rim striping, this two-piece set seamlessly blends functional utility with rustic modern aesthetic appeal. An ideal serving set or decorative centerpiece for Mid-Century Modern, Farmhouse, Cottagecore, or Rustic Boho dining spaces.
Craftsmanship & Artist Background Hand-thrown in Shaftsbury, Vermont, this set reflects Robert Crystal's legacy of creating tactile, ergonomically designed stoneware. The pitcher features a generously pulled handle, a smooth pouring spout, and an incised dark accent ring near the base. The wide, low-profile platter acts as a dedicated underplate or standalone serving dish. Both pieces highlight Crystal’s signature high-fire glaze formulations, producing a vibrant, micro-speckled orange surface. Both the pitcher and plate are signed on their unglazed bases.
Condition & Surface Character • Sound structural condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, or repairs. • Vibrant glaze finish with subtle speckled surface variations inherent to hand-applied studio firing. • Clean, unglazed stoneware bottoms showing authentic potter’s signatures and maker marks.
