Overview An exquisite vintage hand-painted porcelain figurine depicting Odarka, a beloved figure from traditional Eastern European theatrical folk culture. Sculpted standing proudly beside a rustic fence with an overturned ceramic pitcher, she wears an intricate traditional blouse, patterned apron, tan vest, and decorative headscarf with fine gilded accents. This expressive piece brings narrative charm, sculptural elegance, and rich color to Global Eclectic, Vintage Boho, Mid-Century Modern, or Wabi-Sabi interior styling. Ideal for shelf styling, bookcase vignettes, mantel displays, or curio cabinet feature placement. Cultural & Artistic Background Rooted in classic mid-20th-century Eastern European porcelain traditions, this figurine highlights regional folk costuming traditions including hand-rendered geometric sleeve stitchery (vyshyvanka motif), a checkered wrap skirt (plakhta pattern), and a sculpted black headpiece. The figure reflects the classic ceramic sculpting heritage of prominent regional experimental art factories. The underside features the factory's red-stamped maker hallmark alongside a red "1c" first-quality grade classification mark. Condition & Surface Character The fine glazed porcelain figurine remains in excellent vintage condition with sound structural integrity. Glaze gloss and hand-painted enamel colors retain vivid contrast with bright reds, warm tans, and crisp white porcelain fields. Gilded accent lines along the vest border and skirt hem show minimal wear. The raw unglazed bottom foot rim exhibits minor, age-appropriate surface shelf toning while protecting the clear red factory stamp.
