Overview This three-piece vintage PenDelfin stonecraft performance and leisure collection pairs musical arrangement with countryside fishing motifs. The set features "The Thumper" seated in red trousers with arms raised to play, a detailed standalone upright piano accessory adorned with carved floral patterns and musical notes, and "Whopper," a fishing rabbit wearing a wide blue brimmed hat while cradling a large caught fish inside a boot. Together, these figures create a playful, harmonious scene for cottagecore shelving, piano tops, or rustic interior displays. Cultural & Artistic Background Handcrafted by PenDelfin Studios in Burnley, Lancashire, England, this trio embodies 20th-century British stonecraft art. Created by co-founders Jean Walmsley Heap and Jeanie Todd, PenDelfin sculptures were individually cast in heavy stone composite before being detailed by hand using rich matte pigments. The underside of each piece includes protective green felt padding with original palette-shaped black-and-gold foil studio labels and registered design hallmarks, including "The Thumper" designation (Reg. Des. No. 930.352) and "MADE IN ENGLAND" lettering along the piano's lower wooden edge. Condition & Surface Character The set exhibits very good vintage condition with sturdy structural integrity across all three pieces. The original hand-applied color palette displays lovely preservation, featuring vibrant blues on Whopper's hat and boot, crisp off-white and black piano keys, and warm red tones on Thumper's garments. Fine surface texturing—such as wood graining on the piano body and sculpted fur definition—remains distinct. Subtle age-appropriate patina and gentle surface rubs contribute to authentic vintage studio character, while green felt bases and maker labels remain well-preserved.
