Description A colorful and complementary set of two vintage Mexican folk art pottery vases. These pieces showcase the rich tradition of Pre-Columbian revival styles, featuring earth tones of terracotta, rust, sage green, and white.
The set includes two distinct but harmonizing designs. The taller vessel features a textured white background with a striking, stylized relief painting of an Aztec or Mayan figure (dignitary or warrior) surrounded by plumage. The shorter companion vase features a black/grey clay body decorated with etched geometric bands of spirals and lines in contrasting white and orange.
Key features:
Vase 1 (9"): Features a prominent mythological figure in profile with stylized feathers.
Vase 2 (8"): decorated with horizontal bands of geometric sgraffito-style spirals and triangular motifs.
Finish: Both feature a traditional matte, unglazed finish characteristic of Mexican export pottery.
Palette: Warm earth tones that fit perfectly into Southwestern, Boho, or eclectic decor themes.
Interior: Unfinished terracotta interiors.
These vessels make an excellent decorative pairing for a mantel, bookshelf, or side table.
