Overview This fine pair of vintage handcrafted wooden serving trays brings architectural interest, artisanal inlay work, and rich organic texture to tabletop displays, ottoman centerpieces, or dining credenzas. The two-piece suite features one rectangular tray embellished with detailed central inlay depicting the Taj Mahal framed by floral vine borders, alongside an elongated companion tray featuring hand-carved piecrust scalloped rims and sculptural end handles. The deep timber tones gracefully complement interiors styled in Global Eclectic, Wabi-Sabi, Japandi, and Mid-Century Modern aesthetics. Cultural & Artistic Background Rooted in mid-century South Asian artisan carving and marquetry traditions, each tray showcases distinct regional craft techniques. The inlaid tray features a detailed architectural depiction of the iconic Taj Mahal monument accented with flowing floral arabesque borders set into rich hardwood. The companion tray displays traditional relief carving, featuring a undulating scalloped perimeter and openwork carved grip handles, exemplifying classic regional woodcraft heritage. Condition & Surface Character Both trays maintain excellent structural integrity with flat, stable bases and sound joinery. The inlay detail on the architectural tray remains crisp and complete. The natural hardwood retains a warm, lustrous amber-chestnut patina, exhibiting light age-appropriate surface wear, faint friction marks, and organic grain variations that highlight authentic vintage character.
