Overview This vibrant two-piece set of vintage brass decorative accents features one hand-chased scalloped wall plate accented with black and red floral engraving alongside a round flat plaque detailed with geometric enamel inlay. The warm golden luster of the brass paired with colorful hand-worked enameling creates a captivating visual statement for Global Eclectic, Boho, or Wabi-Sabi interiors. Display them side-by-side as part of a gallery wall, flat on a coffee table tray, or supported on display easels.
Cultural & Artistic Background Rooted in Near Eastern and South Asian metalworking traditions (Chased Brass and Minakari style enameling), these pieces display fine hand-incised artistry. The larger 7.8-inch plate features a crimped pie-crust rim and radial floral rosettes highlighted with black and crimson lacquer fill. The smaller 4.8-inch plaque showcases a geometric star medallion divided into triangular quadrants, filled with translucent magenta, emerald green, and cobalt blue enamel. Two discrete pre-drilled mounting holes along the rim of the smaller plaque allow for convenient wall hanging.
Condition & Surface Character Both brass pieces are structurally sound and complete. The larger plate exhibits a warm aged brass patina with vibrant enamel retention in the hand-etched channels, accompanied by minor surface tarnish on the underside. The smaller enameled plaque retains vibrant color saturation across its geometric cells, displaying light age-appropriate surface wear and natural patination on its reverse brass face.
