Overview
A vintage cast iron boot jack in the shape of a beetle. Its two long curved horns form a fork that holds the heel of a boot, so you can step on the beetle's back and pull your boot off without bending down. The body has textured, scale-like wing covers with a raised center line and six rounded feet. The iron has a rusty brown surface with darker tones in the recesses. It works well by a back door, in a mudroom or on a cabin porch, and it is heavy enough to use as a doorstop.
