This substantial cast brass tripod basin features a broad, flat everted rim, a deep circular well, and three robust cabriole-style legs with ornamental bracket mounts. Radiant with a warm golden brass finish on its exterior and accented by authentic verdigris patination inside the well, this large-scale vessel makes a commanding statement. Perfectly suited for Wabi-Sabi, Global Eclectic, Organic Modern, or classic traditional interior settings, it serves as a tabletop centerpiece, floating flower basin, or floor display accent. Cultural & Artistic Background Inspired by traditional South Asian urli water basins and ceremonial hearth vessels, large tripod bowls were historically crafted for ritual purifications, flower offerings, or holding aromatic botanicals during gathering rites. Cast from heavy copper-alloy brass and finished on a manual lathe, the vessel displays distinct concentric turning rings across its base. The elevated cabriole legs elevate the heavy basin off surfaces, uniting functional stability with refined architectural lines. Condition & Surface Character • Heavy, thick-walled brass casting with complete structural integrity across all three reinforced leg mounts. • Exterior displays a bright, warm golden brass luster with subtle age pitting, light surface scratches, and authentic oxidation. • Deep basin well exhibits natural verdigris oxidation, mineral calcification, and visible lathe-turned concentric rings across the bottom. Dimensions & Weight • Height: 7.8 inches • Width/Diameter: 13.5 inches
