Overview
Wooden storage box covered in brown faux leather with a pebbled grain. Antiqued brass nailhead studs line every edge, form arches on the front and sides, and circle an oval on the lid. It has a brass hook latch on the front, two brass hinges at the back, and burgundy felt lining inside. A good size for keepsakes, letters, jewelry or desk storage.
Background
The design is based on 19th-century campaign and travel trunks, which used brass studs and hardware for strength. Decorative boxes in this style became popular home accents in the late 20th century. Unmarked.
Condition
Good vintage condition. The studs look complete. The latch and hinges work. The sides and front have light scuffs, and there is a faint scratch across the lid. The bottom has many scratches and scuffs from use. The felt lining is intact, with a few light spots in the lid. Please see all photos.
