Overview
A graduated set of three vintage brass candlesticks, standing 16, 15 and 14 inches tall. Each one has a long square column with bevelled corners, a turned collar at the top and bottom, and a stepped, domed round base. At the top, a wide, flat drip pan with a raised rim surrounds a small central socket for taper candles. The brass has a warm golden polish with some darker toning on the columns. Set in a row of three heights, they suit a mantel, sideboard or dining table, and they look good grouped together or used on their own.
Background
Tall brass candlesticks with plain columns and wide drip pans follow a classic shape long used for church altar candlesticks, and they work just as well as home decor. These are heavy for their size, with a combined weight of 8 lb 13 oz. The bases are hollow underneath, and no maker's mark is visible.
Condition
Good vintage condition with no breaks or visible repairs, and all three stand straight. There is some darker toning and spotty patina on the columns, small marks on the drip pans and bases, and light scratches from use and polishing. Please see all photos.
