Vintage 1992 United Design Angel Lion & Lamb Figurine AA-020 Limited Edition 12"

Overview

A vintage limited edition figurine from United Design's Angels Collection, titled "Angel, Lion & Lamb." A long-haired angel with a small gold halo stands with her arms spread wide, and her robe and wings sweep out behind a standing male lion and a young lamb. The lion has a full, deeply textured mane and a calm face, and his tail curls around the lamb at his side. The angel's robe and wings have a fine sandy texture, while her face, hands and hair are smooth, and the animals are hand-painted in soft honey, tan and brown tones. The scene follows the familiar image of the lion and the lamb resting together in peace. It suits a mantel, bookshelf, sideboard or a quiet reading corner.

Background

United Design Corporation of Noble, Oklahoma, made cast figurines through the late 20th century, and its Angels Collection was one of its best-known lines in the 1990s. The green felt base is stamped in gold with "Angels Collection," "Angel, Lion & Lamb," a partly faded edition number out of a limited edition of 10,000, the United Design mark, "© 1992 United Design Corporation" and the model number AA-020. Initials are incised near the bottom of the back. The piece is solid and heavy for its size.

Condition

Good vintage condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The paint and gold halo are intact, with light shelf wear and minor marks to the base and felt. Please see all photos.
