Overview
A Teleflora porcelain music box and trinket box with a white swan on the lid. The round body has a deep cobalt blue glaze with raised gold-tone ribbon bows around the sides and wide gold-tone bands at the top and bottom edges. The lid lifts off and is topped by a sculpted white swan with raised, feathered wings, a curved neck and a lowered head, sitting on blue "water" marked with gold wave lines. Inside, the box has a smooth white glazed interior for rings, earrings or small keepsakes. It stands on three small feet and has a wind-up music movement in the base that plays Swan Lake. It suits a dresser, vanity, curio cabinet or display shelf, and would make a nice gift for someone who loves swans.
Background
Teleflora is known for decorative gift containers sold through florists, and musical keepsake boxes were among its giftware pieces. The black plate under the base is marked "Teleflora," "Not suitable for food" and "Made in China," with the Teleflora logo. No specific date is claimed.
Condition
Good pre-owned condition. The music box winds and plays Swan Lake, at a slightly quick tempo. The cobalt glaze and gold-tone decoration are bright, and the lid and base are both present. There is light handling wear, and the bottoms of the three feet show wear and discoloration. Please see all photos.
