Description Discover a world of artisan craftsmanship with this beautiful set of three vintage wooden trinket boxes. Each handcrafted box in this collection showcases a unique regional decorative art technique, combining warm, textured organic wood grains with exquisite lid details. Ideal for storing jewelry, keepsakes, crystals, or stamps, this curated trio serves as an outstanding design statement for bohemian, mid-century modern, or globally-inspired home decor. Box 1: Southeast Asian Elephant Repoussé Wood Box Dimensions: 4.5" L x 3" W x 1.5" H Culture & History: This box features an ornate metal panel handcrafted using traditional repoussé—a historic metalworking technique where details are hammered into relief from the reverse side to create a textured, three-dimensional surface. The majestic Asian elephant is a revered sacred symbol in Hindu and Buddhist cultures, representing strength, wisdom, good fortune, and royalty. Box 2: Geometric Wood Parquetry Stash Box Dimensions: 3" L x 3" W x 1.8" H Culture & History: This square lidded box is a beautiful example of mid-century geometric wood parquetry. It features contrasting, natural exotic wood veneers (including rosewood, teak, and light maple-toned strips) carefully fit together by hand. Parquetry is an advanced joinery art form with deep roots in historic European cabinetmaking, using the natural grains of wood to create bold, modern patterns. Box 3: South Asian Brass Filigree Jali Box Dimensions: 3.2" L x 2" W x 2" H Culture & History: Crafted in the historic woodworking region of northern India, this warm golden-brown wood box features an intricate brass filigree insert on its lid. The delicate geometric design is inspired by jali—traditional architectural latticework used in classic palaces to filter sunlight. Artisans carve the wooden recess to press-fit the brass sheet flush with the wood, creating a beautiful contrast.
