Overview
A matched pair of electric hurricane table lamps in clear cut glass. Each lamp has a tall, flared hurricane shade cut with a diamond lattice pattern, a candle-style socket with a pierced silver-tone collar, and a scalloped cut glass bobeche hung with octagonal crystal buttons and long notched spear prisms. The tapered glass stems stand on square cut glass bases. They work well as a pair on a mantel, sideboard, console or dressing table.
Background
Electric hurricane and luster lamps with hanging prisms were popular in the mid-20th century, borrowing the look of earlier candle lusters and girandoles. Each lamp has its own cord with an inline switch and a two-prong plug.
Condition
Used, in good vintage condition. No chips or nicks were found on the shades, bobeches, prisms or bases. Both lamps light, but the inline switches may need a slight adjustment to keep steady contact; new inline switches or rewiring may be wanted for daily use. Please see all photos.
