Overview
An original mixed media painting on stretched canvas with a music theme. Loose brushwork in turquoise, blue, green and yellow fills the surface, with a gold-outlined treble clef on the left and painted music notes and swirls across the center. Clear glass gems line the top and sides, and square mirror tiles on small white mounts run along the bottom edge. Engraved metal word rings, a small airplane charm, a pebble-shaped word charm, a gold bottle cap and small mirror squares add texture. The painting continues around the edges, so it can hang without a frame. It suits a music room, studio, office or bright wall.
Background
Mixed media pieces like this combine paint with everyday objects and charms to add texture and depth. This piece is unsigned. The stretcher bar on the back has a stamped number (100312), which appears to be a stretcher or supplier number. A few jigsaw puzzle pieces and a small wooden picket-fence piece are attached to the back of the canvas inside the frame.
Condition
Good condition. The canvas is taut, and the glass gems, mirror tiles, rings and charms are attached. There is light handling wear. Please see all photos.
