Overview

A framed mixed-media wall piece by Kelly Rae Roberts for Creative Co-Op. A layered butterfly cut from sheet metal sits in raised relief at the top, with a distressed painted finish and real rust along its edges and wings. Behind it, a large butterfly outline is printed in pale floral patterns, next to a patchwork block of floral papers. Below are a blue scroll band, a rust-brown strip and a lace-pattern strip, and "EMBRACE CHANGE" is stamped in dark letters on a teal panel. The dark charcoal frame gives it a shadowbox look. It suits a gallery wall, entryway, office or bedroom.

Kelly Rae Roberts is an American mixed-media artist and author known for uplifting, collage-style artwork, and her designs have been produced for home decor by companies including Creative Co-Op and DEMDACO. The back carries a printed "© kellyrae" script copyright mark and a Creative Co-Op label with lot number SCS-ACTM-000006, dated 5/20/2012. The label also notes California 93120 Phase 2 formaldehyde compliance for the MDF construction.

Condition

Good pre-owned condition. The metal butterfly has real surface rust over its painted finish, which adds to the weathered look. The frame has light rubbing and small chips, with more wear along one side, and the back has light scuffs. The metal fastener that holds the butterfly shows through the back near the top center, with a little scrape around it; it is secure. The hanging wire and hardware are in place.
