Overview
A copper and brass double wine chiller by Global Views. It has two open round wells for wine or champagne bottles, one at each end, and a covered center well with a brass lid and knob finial. The faceted copper body sits on an oval stepped brass base, with brass side handles and rim trim. The Art Deco style shape works well on a bar cart, sideboard or buffet.
Background
Global Views designs decorative home accents based on classic forms, and this piece takes its look from traditional footed wine coolers. The original maker label under the base reads "Global Views Inc. Made in India" with the company's colored globe logo.
Condition
Structurally sound with solid seams. No dents noted. The copper shows natural patina, light oxidation, handling marks and light scuffs. The inside of the center well has green-blue oxidation (verdigris). The brass handles, trim, finial and base show mild tarnish, heavier in recessed areas. There are a few small white paint spots on the underside of the base. Please see all photos.
