Overview This vibrant trio of vintage hand-painted turned wood lacquer dishes brings warmth, artisan depth, and rich texture to curated interiors. Featuring classic botanical scrollwork, stylized foliage, and rich berry motifs set against shimmering gold and deep black fields, these decorative accents are ideal for shelf styling, credenza focal points, or wall mounting within Global Eclectic, Maximalist, or Wabi-Sabi spaces. Cultural & Artistic Background Rooted in regional Slavic folk art traditions, these plates showcase master-level freehand brushwork on lathe-turned wood bases. The luminous gold effect is achieved through historic multi-stage lacquer and heat-curing techniques over metallic undercoats. Each dish highlights traditional botanical symbolism, incorporating stylized rowan berries and scrolling acanthus-like tendrils bordered by fine painted rims. Condition & Surface Character All three dishes maintain exceptional structural integrity with no cracks, splits, or warping in the turned timber bases. The hand-painted enamel and surrounding clear lacquer retain high gloss, vivid pigment saturation, and excellent surface clarity. The underside features a matte black lacquer finish showing light, uniform surface friction rub on the stepped foot rings consistent with standard display age.
