The trio includes "Crocker," standing at five inches tall at his workbench shaping a clay jug alongside a friendly frog, "Dobbin," riding a green-harnessed hobby horse in bright red overalls, and "Pooch," a restful, floppy-eared hound in a textured speckled coat. Together, these figures lend a cheerful cottagecore accent to bookshelf displays, mantel arrangements, or curated nursery shelves.
Cultural & Artistic Background
Handcrafted by PenDelfin Studios in Burnley, Lancashire, England, these figurines exemplify post-war British stonecraft art. Established by Jean Walmsley Heap and Jeanie Todd in the 1950s, PenDelfin developed a world-renowned tradition of casting heavy stone composite forms and finishing them with detailed hand-painted glazes. The undersides showcase protective green felt bases, complete with original palette-shaped black-and-gold foil studio labels and registered design designations, including the "DOBBIN" mark with registered design number 2044320.
Condition & Surface Character
All three figurines demonstrate excellent vintage condition with strong structural integrity. The hand-applied color palette displays vivid retention, particularly across Crocker's blue overalls, Dobbin's red pants, and Pooch's multi-tonal patterned coat. Fine relief details—including fur texturing, wood grain on the potter's bench, and cobblestones beneath the hobby horse—remain crisp and distinct. Minor age-consistent surface wear adds genuine vintage studio character, while green felt bases and foil maker labels remain cleanly attached.
Dimensions & Weight
Height: 5.0 inches (largest figure)
Width/Diameter: 3.5 inches
Depth: 2.5 inches
Weight Profile: Solid / Moderate

https://belleafrikarts.com/products/vintage-pendelfin-stonecraft-3pc-set-crocker-dobbin-pooch-figurine
