This pairing features a vibrant green and white Bugs Bunny Greengrocer delivery truck adorned with Warner Bros. character lithography alongside a classic Cherrydale Farms delivery van constructed as a functional tabletop coin bank with a top coin slot. Finished in multi-color offset enamels with detailed wheel pressings and faux wood grain side panels, these vintage vehicles double as nostalgic display accents for nursery shelving, executive desks, home libraries, or curated mid-century toy collections.
Deep Cultural & Historical Background:
This set highlights two distinct branches of mid-to-late 20th-century commercial tinplate art: branded character merchandising and promotional corporate tinware. The first vehicle features Looney Tunes iconography with Bugs Bunny carrying fresh carrots, complete with vintage typography reading B. BUNNY GREENGROCER, FARM FRESH, HOME DELIVERY, and simulated white rubber balloon tires marked with embossed tread detail. The second vehicle serves as a promotional promotional giveaway for Cherrydale Farms—a historic American confection and fundraising brand established in the early 20th century—rendered in classic 1930s-style delivery van architecture with faux paneled siding, an illustration of a uniformed delivery driver in the cab, and a top-mounted coin slot for domestic thrift storage. Both pieces were fabricated using traditional sheet metal press-stamping, folded tab seams, and offset lithographic printing, representing the height of postwar American commercial novelty design.
Condition & Surface Character:
Both vehicles display overall solid structural condition with genuine, age-appropriate vintage wear. The lithographed surfaces exhibit light edge scuffing, subtle paint loss along tab seams, and gentle patination across the exposed metal undercarriages. The coin slot on the Cherrydale Farms truck remains clean and unbent, and all four spoked wheels on both trucks rotate freely on steel axles. The litho graphics on both cabins and cargo boxes remain bright and legible without major fading or denting.
Dimensions & Weight:
Height: 4.0 – 4.5 inches
Width/Diameter: 3.0 – 3.5 inches
Depth: 7.0 – 7.4 inches
Weight Profile: Moderate

https://belleafrikarts.com/products/vintage-mid-century-tinplate-bugs-bunny-cherrydale-farms-truck-pair-7-4-in
