The center is decorated with a wide band of chased scrolls, acanthus leaves, small flowers, shell motifs and cross-hatched panels, leaving a plain round area in the middle with no monogram. A twisted gadroon border runs around the raised rim, set off by a smooth inner band. The top still has a bright silver finish, with light tarnish in the recesses of the pattern. At 10.4 inches across, it suits a bar cart, dresser or coffee table as a drinks tray, a perfume or candle tray, or a place for keys and small things.

Background

International Silver Company was formed in Meriden, Connecticut in 1898 and became one of the largest American makers of silverplate tableware in the 20th century.
