The raised wings curve forward around the book, and the inside pages are cast with lines of script. Each bird stands on webbed feet on an irregular textured base, with its head tilted upward. The feathers are cast in detail across the wings and back. The finish is a green verdigris patina with bronze-brown highlights on the raised areas, and one bird is slightly greener than the other. They suit a bookshelf, desk or study, and they are heavy enough to hold a row of hardcovers.

Background

San Pacific International is a San Francisco company known for decorative bookends and animal sculptures for the home.
